Privacy Policy
Zeraku is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it — in plain language.
Effective: June 1, 2025 · Last updated: March 1, 2026
1. The short version
Zeraku tools run entirely in your browser. Files you upload — images, audio, CSVs, JSON — are processed locally on your device and never sent to our servers. We don't have them. We can't see them.
We do collect some minimal usage data to keep the service running and improve it. Read on for the details.
2. What we collect
Here is everything we may collect:
- ▸Server access logs — IP address, browser type, referring URL, timestamp. Standard web server logging.
- ▸Cookies & localStorage — to remember your language preference and display settings. Also used for advertising if applicable.
- ▸Contact form data — name, email, and message content when you contact us. Used only to respond to your inquiry.
- ▸Google Analytics — anonymized page views, session duration, device type. No personally identifiable information is included.
3. What we do NOT collect
Because our tools process files client-side:
- ▸Images, photos, or videos you analyze or compress
- ▸Audio files or transcription content
- ▸CSV or JSON data you upload
- ▸Passwords (there are no accounts)
4. How we use data
We use collected data to:
- ▸Operate and improve the service
- ▸Analyze usage patterns to prioritize features
- ▸Respond to support requests
- ▸Display advertising (via Google AdSense where applicable)
- ▸Comply with legal obligations
5. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy that governs their data practices:
- ▸Google Analytics — usage analytics
- ▸Google AdSense — advertising
6. Cookies
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Some features (like language persistence) may not work correctly without them.
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
7. Data retention
Server access logs are retained for up to 90 days. Contact form data is retained for up to 1 year. We delete data when it is no longer needed.
8. Children's privacy
Zeraku is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
10. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of Japan, including the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (個人情報保護法). Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we'll add a notice on the site.
